Lighting behemoth Osram is joining Philips in making innovative LED lights to generate interest in the techonology. This seems different in that they might actually be useful.
Called "Cuby", the lights can be attached to a handle, a stick, a finger, anything, and light up a place.

You'd think they'd be battery powered by the design, but if you look closely at the white one, you'll see a microUSB port. You just plug them into a USB charger, or any device with a USB port, and they charge. So convenient and better than batteries.
Today MSNBC reported that the price for the top of the line Phillips LED light bulb is down to $25 with subsidies, down from $60. This is welcome news as earth day has just passed and people have green on their minds. You can see the full report about this in the video below.
